On a quiet street just steps from 57th Street Beach and dotted with classic early 20th-century architecture, 5487's deep, red brick blends with its surroundings, yet its facade stands out: Stately, white Romanesque columns support balustrade-lined balconies, providing a sense of arrival and contrasting with the softly molded corner sun-rooms anchoring both sides of the building. The building was gut-rehabbed in 2018.

I wish you all would update the apartment, cosmetically.

“I would tell them that Mac isn't AS BAD as you usually hear from word of mouth, but they're not the best. I'd advise them to seek private landlords.”

It's decent and well-priced.

“It's a decent price for a large apartment with the works. With five residents, having only two bathrooms is a bit awkward, but it's fine. The laundry facilities are a bit annoying. So far I have never had an issue with other residents using the machines while I need them, but there are a few bees that swarm around the fluorescent light above the machines that are really disturbing. The entire basement is actually really gross, dusty and filled with garbage and random stuff. The porches are relatively tiny for an apartment with so much floorspace, but that's not a big deal. Also it's really annoying that my door came without a lock. I don't like that at all.”
