Some very nice things, some things that need improvement
“Overall, my partner and I have been satisfied with this apartment. Mac apartments has been really good when it comes to addressing problems and fixing things in a timely manner. The boiler died in the winter, and they brought all residents two new electric heaters while they fixed it. They have come multiple times to help us regulate our living room radiator, which tends to get very hot in the winter if you have the wrong valve on it. They came within 30 minutes one time when we lost power. They installed a bike rack in the back patio area at our request. They've been great! The apartment itself is nice enough, but shows signs of decades of use. The floor is quite creaky, which bothers some more than others. We have had issues with small cockroaches and the occasional centipede, but we set up roach traps and have sort of learned to live with it. The kitchen sink and cabinets are new, the fridge is large and in good condition, and the bathroom is in good condition. The apartment gets lots of natural light, which is great, but you definitely need two AC units in the summer (one for the BR, one for the LR) because the place gets HOT (85-90 degrees). The stove unit is so-so -- newish, but small, cheap, uses a constantly-lit pilot light, which heats up the kitchen. The apartment is spacious and good for two people. The neighbors are quiet -- we rarely see anyone! The building doesn't really have any common areas, but it's near the grocery store, pharmacy, and hardware store, and not too far from the U of C and Promontory Point. Over all, it's been a decent experience.”
